Why it matters

Introduced in 1948, the 166 Inter established the template for the Ferrari road car: a compact Colombo V12 chassis clothed by leading Italian coachbuilders. Touring created many of the best-known berlinettas, while Stabilimenti Farina, Vignale, Ghia and others made individual bodies. Its rarity and coachbuilt variety make every surviving example a distinct record of Ferrari’s beginnings.
