The 365 California Spyder combined the glamour of Ferrari’s legendary California name with the refinement of its exclusive Superamerica lineage, creating one of Maranello’s rarest open grand tourers.

Why it matters
Unveiled on Pininfarina’s stand at the 1966 Geneva Salon, the 365 California succeeded the 500 Superfast as Ferrari’s limited-production flagship. Its 4,390 cc Colombo V12 produced approximately 320 hp and drove through a five-speed manual gearbox, while standard power steering and four-wheel disc brakes suited its luxurious touring mission. Pininfarina’s dramatic two-seat spider body paired a very long front deck and covered headlamps with a sculpted triangular door-handle recess and an angular Kamm tail. The production cars used a 2,650 mm Tipo 598 chassis, and only 14 examples were completed during approximately 18 months of production through 1967.
