Ferrari 365 GT 2+2

Why it matters

Presented at the 1967 Paris Salon, the 365 GT 2+2 was Ferrari’s largest and most luxurious production car to that point. Its 4,390 cc Tipo 245 Colombo V12 produced approximately 320 hp through a five-speed manual gearbox, while four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension supported effortless high-speed touring. It was Ferrari’s first 2+2 with self-levelling independent rear suspension and the first model to receive standard power steering and power brakes. The richly trimmed four-seat cabin offered power windows, air conditioning, veneered panels and the last wood-rim steering wheel fitted to a series-production Ferrari. Pininfarina’s imposing fastback earned the affectionate nickname “Queen Mary,” and 809 examples were completed through 1971.
