Why it matters

Introduced in 2023 alongside the SF90 XX Stradale, the SF90 XX Spider brought Ferrari's experimental XX philosophy to an open road car for the first time. Its 3,990 cc twin-turbocharged V8 developed 797 cv and combined with three electric motors for a total of 1,030 cv. An Extra Boost function delivered additional acceleration during Qualify mode, while the recalibrated eight-speed dual-clutch transmission used more dramatic shift logic and sound. The Spider shared the coupe's extensive aerodynamic development, including the fixed rear wing, enlarged front splitter, fender louvres, redesigned underbody and active front devices. Ferrari balanced those elements around the open body and compact aluminum retractable hardtop, which opened or closed in 14 seconds and could operate at speeds up to 45 km/h. The car generated approximately 530 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, an extraordinary figure for an open road car. Ferrari quoted 0–100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a 320 km/h maximum speed. Limited to 599 numbered examples, the SF90 XX Spider joined extreme aerodynamics, electrified all-wheel-drive performance and open-air theater in one of Ferrari's most technically ambitious limited-series cars.
