Why it matters

Revealed in 2023, the SF90 XX Stradale marked the first time Ferrari adapted its XX Programme—previously reserved for non-homologated track cars—for a road-legal automobile. Its 3,990 cc twin-turbocharged V8 received revised inlet and exhaust systems, new pistons and polished combustion chambers, raising engine output to 797 cv. Three electric motors contributed the remainder of the 1,030-cv combined output, while a new Extra Boost function released additional acceleration in short bursts during Qualify mode. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission adopted more aggressive shift logic and auditory character inspired by the Daytona SP3. Ferrari extensively reworked the aerodynamics around a larger front splitter, wheel-arch louvres, redesigned underbody, active front devices and a prominent fixed rear wing—the first fitted to a Ferrari road car since the F50. Together they generated approximately 530 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Ferrari quoted 0–100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a 320 km/h maximum speed. Limited to 799 numbered examples, the XX Stradale united circuit-development intensity with full road homologation, creating a new category within Ferrari's special-series lineage.
